Real Kids Provide the Best
Illustrations for Children’s Sermons

Kids like to see what other kids have to say. Why settle for the usual illustrations for children’s sermons when you can pepper your talk with quotes, video and art from real kids talking about God? It’s all available at the Kids Click Menu.

In addition to making your children’s sermons more interesting, don’t underestimate the influence of peer role models. One website dedicated to kids had this to say:

“Studies have shown that one of the most effective ways children learn is through the use of cross-age peer tutoring; that is, an older child given the task of teaching a younger child. Why?

“When students learn from someone who is ‘just like them,’ they are more engaged in their learning. Peer tutoring highlights a ‘common bond’ between tutor and pupil; consequently, children are often more open and receptive to learning.”

Journalist Carey Kinsolving has considered thousands of children’s quips and quotes for his syndicated column Kids Talk About God. He’s produced TV spots of kids talking about God for an ABC affiliate TV station. He’s collected children’s Bible art for two books and for an online art gallery. These rich resources are available on the Kids Click Menu without charge or registration at.

Children's Quotes & Art

The online Kids Color Me Bible contains a rich resource of children’s quotes related to Bible stories. You may find Carey’s Commentary helpful as you craft your children’s sermon. He weaves together his response to children’s quotes and lessons derived from the Bible story. Each lesson contains children’s illustrative art and a Bible story in the Easy-To-Read Version.
